Adam Carpentieri, D.O. is the former Medical Staff President for St. Joesph Hospital, member of the Catholic Health Services of Long Island. He is the current Director of Family Medicine and Director of Medical Education, appointed in 2009.
Dr. Carpentieri graduated from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM) in 1999. He completed a residency in Family Medicine at the CHS flagship for post graduate medical education, Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. It was there that he was first published and was selected as Chief Resident.
Dr. Carpentieri completed his training in July of 2002. He embarked on a career as a Board Certified Family Medicine attending, joining a well established private internal medicine practice. He has practiced with his eventual partner Dr. Mauro Gasparini ever since. These 17 years in private practice have helped develop a balance between his passion for direct patient care with the demands of Medical Directorship of three skilled nursing facilities and two adult day care programs as well the aforementioned leadership roles at St. Joseph Hospital.
Dr. Carpentieri remains active teaching the physicians of tomorrow. As a member of the faculty of two local medical schools, he is an Adjunct Associate Clinical Professor for Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) and his alma mater NYITCOM (formerly NYCOM).
With his personal time, Dr. Carpentieri remains a kid at heart. He continues to enjoy the pastimes of his youth, playing the middle infield for a men’s baseball team, competing in long distance running and driving fast cars.
His true passion however, remains spending as much time as possible with three ladies in particular, his wife Jennifer and two daughters Jordan and Taylor. They enjoy the beaches of the east end of Long Island, the wonders of old world Europe and the simple pleasures of their backyard oasis.
Dr. Carpentieri was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1973. He was adopted by his loving parents Michael and Georgina in January of 1974, arriving into JFK as seen on The Today Show. It is the love and support he receives from his entire family that has become the foundation of his life.
